Sidcup Motorcycle Club has been gearing up to host a round of a national motocross competition at its Canada Heights track in Swanley.

The off-road track will be hosting a round of the British Motocross Championship for the second year running when the event takes place on April 22.

The motorcycle club has worked flat out over the winter to have the track up and running in time, with extensive work carried out to give spectators easy access to all parts of the venue as well as stunning new viewing areas.

The prestigious British Championship, which is recognised as one of the most competitive domestic Motocross championships in the world, has paved the way for world champions in the past and attracts the finest motocross riders in the country.

Canada Heights has earned a good reputation over the years as being one of the best rounds of the series, being awarded the third round of the competition for this year.

The spectacular eight-round national series is televised by Eurosport and the News Shopper is proud to be the local title sponsor.

The day will kick off on April 22 with an opportunity to walk around the paddock and meet some of the riders for autographs, watch mechanics preparing for the day’s racing, as well as pick up memorabilia including posters and stickers.

A warm up for the riders will be held from 9am, with the six races of the day set to kick off from 10.45am.

There is an extensive shopping village where you can pick up a bargain for all things motocross related and souvenirs to remember the day by.

Everything you need for a great day out is provided by the Sidcup club, including free parking, plenty of refreshments, toilets, and a beer tent.

The event is being pitched as an occasion for all the family at £45 for a family ticket, adult admission £20, concessions £15, and children £5.
