Another man has been arrested for allegedly conning a pensioner out of £30,000 in Dartford.

A 22-year-old from Surrey is alleged to have carried out unnecessary and overpriced building work for a man in his 60s in Princes Road between September and December.

He was arrested on Tuesday, January 8, and has been bailed under investigation until Friday January 19.

Detective Sergeant Marc Cananur, of the serious economic crime unit, said: "Our officers have been working closely with Trading Standards and other partners to investigate fraud, safeguard victims, and prevent residents from falling foul to building scams.

"Please beware of anyone asking for money upfront for any service unless it is a genuine company that you have selected, and never deal with any unexpected doorstep callers offering work on your home or garden."

This arrest follows the charge of 25-year-old James Dennard of Darenth Wood Road, Dartford, in December.

Mr Dennard is due at Medway Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, January 16.
