Plans to build three apartment buildings bringing nearly 70 homes to Dartford have been submitted.

An application, submitted by Skillcrown Homes, has been put in to the council to build on a site near St Mary's Road in Stone.

The vacant site is near the recently redeveloped Old Rectory, close to the Travelodge.

The proposed development consists of 68 apartments, broken down into six one-bed, 58 two-bedroom and four three-bedroom apartments spread over three buildings.

The first building would be four storeys, the second five and the third being seven storeys high. Developers say there will be eighty two car parking spaces included in the development.

In their application, developers said: "All the proposed buildings will have flat roofs, incorporating large communal roof gardens, private terraces and green roofs.

"The buildings will be surrounded by a combination of low and high level planting, with most of the existing trees to the boundaries being retained."

It was revealed in November that the number of homes being built in Dartford rose by over a thousand compared to the year before.

Figures released by the government showed Dartford to have the more new homes being built than anywhere else in Kent.
