A three car crash in Northfleet that has left a man in a serious condition in hospital has sparked a police appeal for witnesses.

The crash happened in London Road at around 10.10pm on Friday September 1 and involved a black Toyota Avensis, a silver Peugeot 206 and a red Mazda 3.

The driver of the silver Peugeot, a man in his 40s who is from Northfleet, suffered serious injuries.

He was taken to a London hospital, where he remains in a serious condition.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service cut the man free after he became trapped inside his vehicle.

Kent Police closed the road while fire crew carried out the rescue and made the scene safe.

Officers from the serious collision investigation unit would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or saw anything in the moments before the incident.
