After a glorious weekend of summer sunshine over the bank holiday the the meteorological autumn begins on today.

Today will feel autumnal with a slight chill in the air in the early morning. Some showers will develop over the morning and it could be thundery, but in the sunshine it will feel warm with light winds.

Showers during the evening will become more isolated overnight, with only a few remaining in coastal areas by morning. Clear spells will develop, along with some mist and fog patches. Minimum Temperature 10 °C.

Tomorrow, Saturday September 2, will have a chilly start, but any mist and fog patches, or lingering showers in the east, will quickly clear to leave a dry day with good spells of sunshine.

Showers will ease away, leaving a dry, chilly night with plenty of clear spells. Some mist or fog may develop, especially across central and northern parts of England.

There will be a bright start Sunday but clouding over with outbreaks of rain by the afternoon.
