A man has been jailed for stealing a toothbrush from a shop in Dartford.
Michael David McCartney, 25, stole an electric toothbrush worth £280 from a shop in Dartford High Street on June 24.
Then on July 11, McCartney, of Olive Road, stole groceries worth £62.34 from a shop in Watchgate, Dartford.
He returned again on July 21 and he stole meat worth £25.13 from the same shop.
He pleaded guilty to three counts of shoplifting.
On August 25 Medway magistrates sentenced McCartney to 26 weeks in prison. Because the offences were committed during the operational period of a suspended sentence, the overall length of his sentence is 34 weeks. He must also pay £1,145 compensation and £85 costs.
