A woman will lock herself in a kennel for a day in an effort to raise money for a Northfleet animal rescue charity.
Jan Smith, from Dartford, is hoping to raise £500 for New Hope Animal Rescue next month.
So far, her crowdfunder has raised more than £700, smashing the original target.
The money will go towards ANHAR Land Appeal to help the operators, Niall Lester and Steph Derry, take care of an increasing number of unwanted animals.
In a letter on Justgiving, Jan said: “I cannot find the words which describe the love, hope and dedication shown by Niall and Steph.
“They always go the extra mile and never give up even at the most difficult and challenging times; they find a way of working their way through.”
ANHAR want to raise £300,000 to help them take care of the animals.
New Hope concentrates on deathrow animals from pounds and vets as well as injured stray animals.
Jan said: “Because I feel very strongly about this and want to help in any way I can, I am asking my friends and colleagues to sponsor me when I spend 24 hours locked in a kennel starting July 8 with my release on July 9.
“Any donations, no matter how small will be gratefully received.”
