A pensioner who was reported missing from Swanley has been found safe and well in some woods near Dartford after three days.

Kent Search and Rescue worked with Kent Police to find the missing 68-year-old in Joyden’s Wood yesterday evening.

Katherine Rowsell went missing from the Birchwood Road area of Swanley on Saturday, June 17.

Volunteers and search dogs were used to search the woods for the missing woman at around 9pm last night.

A spokesman for Kent Search and Rescue said: “We're pleased to say the missing 68 year old lady from Swanley was found having been lost in dense woodland for three nights.”

Stewart Baird, Search Manager for KSAR said “She was found alive but in a distressed state and was clearly suffering the effects of having being lost in dense woodland for three nights in unusually hot weather.

“A KSAR Paramedic treated her at the scene and she was transferred to hospital where she is in a stable condition”.

Kent Police thanked all those who assisted in the search.
