A mother from Stone has been left disgusted after finding “30 mice in one night” in her home. which she says gave her one-year-old son an allergic reaction.

The woman, who does not wish to be named and lives in Alamein Gardens, said her little boy has been having allergic reactions.

She thinks the problem started when Dartford Council took her boiler out at the end of last year, exposing holes.

She said: “It has been happening since February last year, when they took my boiler out to replace it.

“I fumigated my house in January but it hasn’t helped. I would have to spend £40 on poison but I have a baby, I can’t do that because he is at a stage where he puts everything in his mouth.”

On one occasion, the mother said she found 30 mice in one night.

She said: “I am at my wits end. I had four traps out and they just kept going off. They’re great big things, they like living here! There are too many holes to plug up.

“I put my son on the floor, he likes to play there but every time I do he gets a rash. He is fine when we stay at my partner's, so it must be a reaction to the mice.

“The council won’t help they will only fumigate the communal areas but all of my area has mice.”

The mother said she went away for a few days in January, and there were droppings everywhere.

"It was so disgusting,” she said.

News Shopper first contacted Dartford Council about the woman’s mouse problem on May 12.

Today a council spokesman said: “We actually have a specialist contractor on site there right now sorting the problem.”
