Remembrance services are to be held across South East London and North Kent this Sunday to remember those in the armed forces who have lost lives in the line of duty since the First World War.

A number of memorial services and parades are to be held by branches of the Royal British Legion on Remembrance Sunday, November 13, with memorials and silences to be held on Friday, November 11.

A two-minute silence will be observed at 11am at services across the country.

Here are the services going on for each borough:

GREENWICH

Charlton and Blackheath

10.45am for 11am on Saturday November 12

  • Wreath-laying ceremonies organised by the Royal British Legion (Blackheath and Charlton Branch) beginning at the Memorial at Maze Hill, SE3, then on to St John's Church, Stratheden Road, SE3 7TH, then on to the Memorial in Charlton Village, SE7, then on to the Memorial in Charlton Cemetery, Cemetery Lane, SE7 8DZ.

Plumstead

10.40am for 11am on Saturday November 12

  • Wreath-laying ceremonies organised by the Royal British Legion (Abbey Wood and Thamesmead) beginning at the Memorial in Plumstead Cemetery, Lodge Hill, SE2 0NS then on to the Memorial in Woolwich New Cemetery, Camdale Road, SE18 2BJ. Please note: Access for Plumstead Cemetery this year is via Lodge Hill, SE2 and not Cemetery Road, SE2, as this entrance is closed.

Eltham

A morning Remembrance Day Parade and Service organised by the Royal British Legion (Eltham and Well Hall Branch).

10.45am on Sunday November 13

  • Parade of veterans, ex-service groups and youth organisations, with a wreath laying ceremony at Eltham War Memorial (junction of Eltham Hill and Eltham High Street, SE9 1DH) and Two Minutes' Silence at 11am. Followed by a Remembrance Service in St John's Church, Eltham Hill, Eltham, SE9 1DH.

Abbey Wood

A morning Remembrance Service organised by the Royal British Legion (Abbey Wood and Thamesmead Branch).

10.40am on Sunday November 13

  • St Michael and All Angels Church, Abbey Wood Road, SE2 9DZ, then on to the Abbey Wood Memorial at Abbey Wood Gardens, Rosedale Close, SE2.

LEWISHAM

10.55am to 12.15pm on Sunday November 13

  • Commemoration and wreath laying at the war memorial in Ladywell Cemetery, followed by walk via three relevent graves to the Deptford memorial in Brockley Cemetery.

DARTFORD

10.40am on Sunday November 13

  • The annual Service of Remembrance will take place at the War Memorial in Central Park, Dartford on Sunday 13th November. The service will begin at 10.40am and following the end of the service there will be a march past by veterans, uniformed and youth organisations from the High Street and along Market Street past the War Memorial. The public are welcome to attend to attend and participate in remembering those who have sacrificed so much and who continue to do so in conflicts around the world. This year is particularly poignant as it is the centenary of the Battle of the Somme and the Battle of Jutland during World War One. Anyone wishing to attend should note that the High Street and Market Street will be closed to traffic from 10.15am on the 13th to allow the service and parade to take place and roads will not re-open until the event has concluded at around midday.

BEXLEY

Open during remembrance period.

  • Garden of Remembrance at Christ Church in Bexleyheath. This will be open for members of the public to place a cross in memory of lost relatives and families. As part of the Garden of Remembrance the Royal British Legion Bexleyheath and Welling Branch will place crosses naming local servicemen who lost their lives in the First World War to the present day.

  • Parade and wreath laying by the  Bexleyheath and Welling Branch of the Royal British Legion at the Oaklands Road War Memorial, Bexleyheath.
