A Dartford man has been jailed for sexually bullying a child for more than two years.

Oliver James Horwood, of Sinclair Way, was sentenced to 16 months for a number of sex offences on the child between July 2012 and September 2014.

The 20-year-old was arrested on June 2 last year.

He pleaded guilty at Maidstone Crown Court on August 16 where he also admitted to sexual exploitation and making indecent images.

Detective Constable Mark Bennett said: “Horwood is an example of where we have uncovered a serious sexual offence against a child as a result of our investigations into indecent images of children.

“Horwood aggressively bullied and manipulated a child online to fulfil his own desires.

"He has now been brought to justice for this and in doing so we have been able to protect children from him.

“I would urge anyone who is suffering at the hands of people like Horwood to tell someone they trust."

"Kent Police will investigate with sensitivity and will do anything possible to protect children and bring offenders to justice.”
