Bexley police are appealing to the public to help identify a man in connection with an assault of an elderly man in Crayford.

The incident happened in London Road at about 5.20pm on August 24 when a 67-year-old man had an altercation with a moped driver.

The vehicles stopped at the traffic lights, opposite the Bear & Ragged Staff pub, and the victim got out of his car.

The moped driver then took his helmet off and hit the victim on his head which knocked him to the ground.

Subsequently, the suspect kicked the victim’s car a number of times, before leaving the scene in the direction of Crayford’s Sainsbury’s.

The elderly man suffered cuts to the left side of his head and his glasses were broken.

The suspect is described as a white male youth, aged 17 to 18 with short brown hair and the crash helmet he was wearing was white and orange.
