Highways England will start making urgent safety repairs to a damaged barrier on the M25 tonight.

Drivers planning to use the M25 at the Dartford Crossing and surrounding roads should be aware of closures on the anti-clockwise carriageway.

Lane one (of three) at junction 31 will remain closed until 10pm as a safety precaution, while the anti-clockwise carriageway will be fully shut between junctions 31 and 30 until 5.30am.

Three narrow lanes will be open tomorrow morning to help drivers with their journeys.

The anti-clockwise carriageway will also be closed on Friday night from 11pm to 6am to complete repairs on the damaged barrier.

The road is planned to be fully open on Saturday morning from 6am.

A signed diversion will be in place during both closures via the exit slip road at junction 31 and the northbound link road to junction 30.

Highways England says the closures are necessary due to safety concerns following an earlier collision which caused damage to a barrier.

Drivers should allow extra time for their journeys if they are affected by these temporary repairs.
