It's a sunny start for a lot of us in south east London and as the mist moves away, the capital city is set for a very hot day.

The Met Office has predicted a maximum temperature of 30 °C but if you're living in coastal areas it will remain cooler due to an onshore breeze.

Tonight we're expecting dry and long clear periods, staying warm, especially in towns and cities.

There will be the odd patch of mist forming in rural locations with an average minimum temperature of 16 °C expected.

By tomorrow the mist will clear again with bright and sunny spells.

Scattered thunderstorms may spread northwards as a result of the sultry condition, although not a lot of rain is expected.

The heat will across eastern areas in Kent is expected to hit a maximum temperature of 31 °C.
