George Low from Dartford was fatally stabbed in Ayia Napa.

A police spokesman told the Mail that officers issued the arrest based on a statement from a third suspect, Akpinar's girlfriend Koulla Anastasiou, 48.

The 48-year-old Greek Cypriot woman from Larnaca appeared in court this week on suspicion of helping the pair flee the scene of the crime.

The fatal stabbing is believed to have been sparked from an argument over the Brits urinating in the street.

A Cyprus police official, who declined to be named, told the Press Association: "She said that her boyfriend told her a complaint was made to the British men about urinating, and that that was the cause of the fight."

The fundraising appeal set up to help pay for his funeral has raised more than £10,000.
