Five Crayford and Dartford young TV lovers nicknamed the Goonies, are set to return to the screen in the hugely successful Gogglebox spin-off Gogglesprogs.

News Shopper has been speaking to the up-and-coming TV critics, Will, Harry, Max, Spencer and Daniel about the show.

The 12-year-olds have been friends since they were four years old and attended the same reception school.

Will’s mum Michelle Petrou, 46, of Crayford Way, Dartford, spoke about the “surprise” of the original Gogglesprogs show that was aired at Christmas.

She said: “We saw an advert on Facebook that they were casting so we sent in a letter about the five boys with a photo.

“We then had some meetings with the production team and that was it, really.

“It was a surprise to all of us and we’re just really proud and happy for them – it’s very heartwarming.

“The boys are doing it for fun and we’re fans of the show.”

The first show will air tonight (June 17) as part of a six episode series.

Twelve sets of children from across the UK will be giving their uninhibited opinions and ultimately hilarious views as they take on a range of programmes from the past months.

From entertainment shows to documentaries to some all-time classic films, as well as up to the minute news stories, the Goonies will be providing us with their keen insights.

Profiles of the Goonies

Will loves the the Simpsons because Homer is just like his Dad.

He's not a fan of X-Factor as it is boring and Simon Cowell shows too much chest hair, apparently.

Will would like to be a footballer, a drummer, a scientist or a sports commentator when he grows up.

Harry is not a fan of fishing programmes because he thinks they are "so boring" and believes that his dad has bad taste when it comes to TV.

As for his own tv programme he said: “The show is really fun to film, I get to laugh and joke with my friends. "

When he grows up he wants to work for MI5 - James Bond style. Harry thinks 007 has the the money, girls and cars and bikes - what more could a boy want?

Max dislikes soaps because of the melodrama.

“They all over react,” the young critic said, “I like the Simpsons because it's funny and I like Bart because he is like us.

“It's good being on the show as I'll be famous but when I grow up I want to be an RAF engineer.”

Spencer is a big fan of TV across the board ranging from Match of the Day, The Big Bang Theory and anything with Ant and Dec because his mum likes Dec.

When he grows up he wants to be a footballer but if it doesn't work out, he'd like to be a police officer because he wants to stop people committing crimes and would also enjoy chasing after them.

Daniel isn’t a fan of Corrie but that’s okay because The Simpsons counter-balances that.

As for later life Dan wants a job with animals on the TV.
