Dartford will play host to scenes of death and destruction when London's emergency services have their biggest ever training exercise at Littlebrook Power Station.

The iconic landmark will provide the set for a significant building collapse involving a train station and mass casualties, after a deal between London Fire Brigade (LFB) and Littlebrook owners RWE.

The Exercise Unified Response, which has been a year in the planning, will take place at the disused building between February 29 and March 3 next year.

LFB's assistant commissioner Peter Cowup said: "We wanted a location that allowed us to create an extremely challenging training environment for our national and international rescue teams.

"Littlebrook Power Station provides the perfect space for us to create a complex scenario to ensure that all participants will be faced with a very realistic scene and an opportunity to practise other key emergency response functions.

"I would like to thank RWE for providing us with access to a unique and highly realistic training environment.
