A 29-year-old man accused of murder following an alleged hit-and-run in Swanley has been charged with drugs offences.

Erasmus Ahwoi, 29, from Stroud Green Gardens, Croydon was due to appear in Maidstone Crown Court yesterday (October 2) but refused to leave prison.

Ahwoi is accused of killing Thomas Rossiter, 42, who died after being dragged underneath a car which hit him in Lynden Way on July 4.

Kent Police confirmed that Ahwoi has also been charged with possession with intent to supply heroin and cocaine and money laundering.

A preliminary hearing for the drugs matter will be held on November 6.

A plea to the murder charge has not yet been entered yet but a not guilty plea has been indicated and a trial date set for January 4 next year.
