A big quiz is being held in Dartford in September to support 'Hi Kent' - the registered charity for deaf and hard of hearing people.

Nationally, one in six people are deaf, making 300,000 people in the county – with ‘Hi Kent’ helping 65,000 of them a year.

Head of fundraising Liz Clayton said: "We started small but have expanded a lot in the last few years.

"The quiz nights are all extremely well attended, fun evenings.

“People who are deaf or hard of hearing can come along to these quiz nights with confidence, knowing that we ensure that a hearing loop is available for guests to use.

“We issue the questions and answers in written form to our deaf/hard of hearing guests to ensure that they can fully enjoy their evening.

"The money we raise is all ploughed back into the free services ‘Hi Kent’ provides."
