A 25-year-old dad from Swanley was hospitalised after an alleged hit-and-run, in which his mother claims he was deliberately targeted.

A 22-year-old woman thought to be the driver has since been arrested on suspicion of assault after the incident in Lime Road at 3.15pm on Friday (Aug 21).

She was released on bail pending further enquiries from Kent Police.

The young man, who suffered serious arm and shoulder injuries, was taken to Princess Royal Hospital in Farnborough by South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAMB).

The victim's mother, who asked not to be named, told News Shopper: "It was outside our house - we were outside my gate and she decided to come up on the pavement at high speed.

"I just got out of the way.

"She had the car pointed at both of us, I was standing right next to my son.”

She added: "It made me feel ill, I cannot eat or sleep properly, I keep hearing the thud and the glass shattering on the window.

"It's affecting my 19-year-old daughter as well, she saw her brother get knocked over.

"It was very fast, as she put her foot down it went 'vroom'.

"I was hysterical by this time, because my son was going in and out of consciousness.”
