Melting candles caused a blaze in Swanscombe yesterday afternoon (Aug 3).
Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) were called to the 'small' fire on Sun Road at 2.45pm - and extinguished it in 20 minutes, using buckets of water.
A KFRS spokesman said: "On arrival crews found a fire on the cooker hob that started as a result of melting canldes.
"The fire had spread to the extractor, cupboards and worktop.
"Firefighters extinguished the blaze using buckets of water.
"They also used the thermal imaging camera to look for hotspots.
"KFRS always recommends never leaving candles unattended in any circumstance."
