Friends of doting dad, Jim King, killed in a horror smash near Farningham Road Station have paid an emotional tribute to the car enthusiast whose death has left a 'void' in their lives.

The 26-year-old was killed when his silver Vauxhall Tigra hit a Mercedes at the junction of Station Road and Dartford Road, Sutton-at-Hone at 10pm on June 14.

Mr King, known as Cheno - a nickname he picked up at school - was a member of national car enthusiast group, Performance-UK.

Club owner, Alan Davey, 33, who lives in Dartford has spoken of the traumatic moment a fellow Performance-UK member drove past the scene just minutes after the accident had happened.

He said: "One of our members, Dave, was the second on the scene.

"We all have Performance-UK stickers on our cars and Jim was the only member with silver Tigra so he knew he was involved.

"He still can't talk about it for more than five minutes without tearing up."

Mr King has been described as loving father, besotted with young son Archie.

Mr Davey added: "He loved that lad, he would do anything for him.

"He was a fantastic dad.

"Jim was a stand-up bloke, the type of guy who would give you his last dime.

"It's left a void in the club, we are more like a family, going in and out of each other's houses, having BBQs.

"We'd only seen him a few days before, we were all laughing, joking with him."
