An 86-year-old motorcyclist died on the A20 near Farningham last night (June 30) after his bike crashed and came off the road.

The man was travelling on the London-bound carriageway from West Kingsdown towards Farningham when he crashed his red and silver Triumph Tiger Cub bike.

South East Coast Ambulance Service, Kent Police and Kent Fire and Rescue Service were all called to Main Road, Gorse Hill, at 8.06pm.

The motorbike was the only vehicle involved.

The man was reported dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

Part of the A20, between the junctions of Scratchers Lane and the A225 at Farningham, was closed until 11:20pm.
