A trapped woman in her 50s was 'cut out' of her flipped car after a one-car crash in Swanley yesterday (June 23).

Kent Fire and Rescue service was called to the A20 to reports a car was on its side, with a woman trapped inside, at around 12.30pm.

The road was closed whilst fire crews worked to release the woman, who was then taken to Princess Royal hospital with 'minor injuries' by South East Coast Ambulance (SECAMB).

A SECAMB spokesman said: "The woman was fully conscious.

"She was suffering from knee injuries and a cut to her arm, and she was placed in a neck collar.

"She was immobilised for potential other injuries.

"She escaped any life threatening injuries."

The incident happened on the Londonbound carriageway, between the junctions with B2173 and A223, and caused ‘moderate’ delays.

A Kent Police spokesman said: "The carriageway was fully reopened just after 1pm.

"Kent Fire and Rescue Service attended and cut a person out of the vehicle.

"One person was taken to hospital with injuries thought to be minor."
