Police are appealing for information after an attempted theft from a ticket machine at a Kent station, which caused £10,000 of damage.
Two men with hammers and other tools damaged the machine and CCTV cameras at Longfield station at 3.15am on Monday, May 18.
Detective Constable Bob Gee said: “Two men arrived at the station on bikes and began removing tools from their backpacks.
“One of them damaged a CCTV camera with a hammer, before both men began trying to break into a ticket machine.
“They damaged the machine, before fleeing the station when they heard police sirens in the distance.”
While they failed to access any cash, the damage to the ticket machine and the CCTV camera was considerable.
Officers have traced the two men on CCTV cameras, and are issuing an appeal for information.
DC Gee added: “I think these two men can help with our enquiries, please tell us who they are.”
