Eight men have been charged in connection with the Hatton Garden jewellery heist.

The men, arrested on Tuesday after raids in Enfield, east London and Dartford in Kent, are charged with conspiracy to burgle.

They have been remanded in custody to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Thursday.

The men charged are:

  • Terry Perkins, 67, of Heene Road, Enfield.
  • John Collins, 74, of Blestoe Walk, N1.
  • Daniel Jones, 58, of Park Avenue, Enfield.
  • Hugh Doyle, 48, of Riverside Gardens, EN2.
  • William Lincoln, 59, of Winkley Street, E2.
  • Brian Reader, 76, of Dartford Road, Dartford.
  • Paul Reader, 50, of Dartford Road, Dartford.
  • Carl Wood, 58, of Elderbeck Close, Cheshunt.

A ninth man has been bailed pending further enquiries.

The charges relate to the heist over the Easter weekend when a gang targeted the vault of a safe deposit company, ransacking 72 safety deposit boxes.

They forced open shutter doors into the basement and bored holes into the vault wall.

Reports said the contents of the boxes may have been worth as much as £60 million.
