A man has been cut from his car after a crash in West Kingsdown.

Kent fire fighters used hydraulic rescue equipment to free the man from his vehicle following a two car crash in London Road at around 5pm yesterday (April 22).

Crews stabilised the vehicle before making space for paramedics to treat the casualty.

A spokesman for the South East Coast Ambulance Service said: "We were called shortly before 5.10pm to near the Game Cock Pub to reports of a collision in which a man in his 40s suffered back pain.

"We sent one ambulance crew to the scene.

"The man was treated at the scene and taken as a priority to the Princess Royal University Hospital."
