Dartford Valley RFC held an activity day to celebrate the launch of their new youth club.
Sunday’s event offered fun for more than 120 rugby-loving children and their families with a BBQ, bouncy castle, raffle, music and obstacle course with the coaching team.
The club asked for voluntary contribution of £5 per child for the activities, welcome pack, drink and snack.
Half the money raised went to Ellenor and British Legion charities.
Youth club coach Gavin Drummond said: "There is not a lot in the community for youth rugby, and now we can see the demand. It’s to get kids active."
Head of youth rugby Luke Stickings said the club will "become a fully inclusive community club for the town", by later moving into ladies' and wheelchair rugby.
Dartford Valley will offer coaching for boys and girls of all ages and experiences, from tiny tots aged three to five, to a RFU coaching clinic for teenagers up to 16 years old.
Sponsorship from Dartford Council and local businesses such as Bluewater will give kids access to subsidised rugby kit and 15 trained coaches.
