A father-of-four has been jailed for fly-tipping in Erith and Dartford.

Anton Munteanu, 46, of no fixed abode, appeared at Bexley Magistrates' Court on January 12 charged with seven charges of fly-tipping, two charges of failing to have a waste carrier’s licence and one charge of scrap metal dealing without a licence.

He pleaded guilty to all 10 charges.

The court heard the fly-tipping incidents took place at mini recycling banks in James Watt Way, Erith, in September 2013 and October and April last year and at recycling banks in Hawley Road, Dartford on March 4 2014.

The court was told Munteanu also failed to produce a waste carrier’s licence on March 6 2014 and between March 31 2014 and April 11 2014 had been dealing in scrap metal without a valid scrap metal dealer’s licence.

Munteanu was sentenced to 26 weeks in jail. He must also pay £1,000 compensation towards clean-up costs.
