Unemployment in Dartford has dropped to an all time low.

According to figures released by the Office of National Statistics (ONS), the number of people claiming Job Seekers Allowance has dropped by 62 per cent since April 2010 and a further 41 per cent since January 2014.

The number of claimants in Dartford is now at its lowest since the ONS records began.

Dartford MP Gareth Johnson said: "These record figures are great news for Dartford.

"Today’s figures are a testament to the hard work carried out by various organisations including the Job Centre in Dartford and the Learning Shop at Bluewater.

"It is vital we stick to our plan for economic recovery.

"Having one person out of work is one too many and, whilst these figures are very welcome, we should not be complacent."
