An inquest into the death of Greenhithe man, Patrick Lamb, heard that the 28-year-old drowned.
The broadcast engineer from London Road went missing after a night out with friends in Maidstone in the early hours of December 13.
His body was discovered in Cuxton Marina by a teenage girl on January 10.
An inquest into his death was opened and adjourned at Archbishop's Palace in Maidstone this morning (Jan 19).
The hearing was told that the 28-year-old's identification was confirmed by clothes, plus his phone, wallet and bank cards.
Mr Lamb's cause of death was given as 'immersion'.
The inquest is expected to resume in April.
