A man died after he was "thrown from his car and up against a wall" in a crash involving two other cars in Dartford yesterday (January 14).

At around 1.40pm a blue Ford Fiesta was travelling along Green Street Green Road towards Dartford when it collided with a white Peugeot taxi travelling in the opposite direction.

The Ford Fiesta then collided with a white Toyota Carina travelling behind the taxi.

Paul Gilham, 53, who works at Capital Site Supplies in New Ash Green village, said he heard the driver of the Ford Fiesta was thrown from his vehicle.

He told News Shopper: "What I was told happened was the chap was overtaking on a bend and went head on into a white taxi.

"He was thrown from his car and his body was thrown up against a wall outside Ryecroft House."

The driver of the Ford Fiesta, a man in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The female driver of the Toyota Carina was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Kent Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) attended the scene.

The road was closed between Shellbank Lane and Darenth Hill until about 5:30pm.

Anybody who witnessed the incident and has not yet spoken to police is asked to call SCIU on 01622 798538, quoting incident reference 14-0627.

Officers are particularly keen to speak to a woman - who was not involved in the collision - who stopped at the scene to assist.
