Revelers lined the streets of Belvedere and Erith in celebration of the birth of the founder of Sikhism, Guru Nanak.

Around 400 people took part in a procession to mark the celebration which falls in November every year.

The parade was organised by the committee from the Belvedere Gurdwara.

Revellers also enjoyed displays of martial arts.

Gurjit Singh, who works as a librarian at the Gurdwara in Lower Street, said: "It was a really good event.

"Loads of people took part in the parade and we were giving out sweets to children.

"Everybody was really interested in what we were doing, asking us questions and wishing us a 'happy Guru Nanak's birthday."
