Welling kids have performed bloodthirsty antics and Shakespearian soliloquies on stage in Dartford.

The children, aged eight and nine, from Bishop Ridley Church of England Primary school in Northumberland Avenue, Welling, put their theatrical talents to the test as part of a Shakespeare Festival.

They performed one of Shakespeare’s most dramatic plays, Julius Caesar, at the Orchard Theatre in Home Gardens, Dartford, on November 10.

Assistant director Carol Donagon said: "They are as high as kites at the moment.

"It was fantastic. We did Macbeth last year and we were frightened we wouldn’t be able to pull it off again but we did.

"They were eight and nine but they completely understood the play.

"It was ‘wow’ – it was really phenomenal. They understood the content, the wording, it just blew everyone’s mind."
