A brain injury charity held a sports day in Dartford where members played hockey and slow football.

Around 40 members and 20 staff and volunteers from Headway took part in the event at North West Kent College in Oakfield Lane.

It was the first time the charity’s branch, which covers south east London and north west Kent, ran the sports day in the college and many of the students helped out.

Social rehab care plan coordinator for Abbey Wood Angela Peattie said: "The college was really supportive and the students were amazing, they supported our members in taking part.

"We had a real range of different activities including hockey, blind football, tennis and Tai Chi ball for relaxation.

"The feedback we had was amazing. Many people feel they can’t take part in sports after having a brain injury but now a lot of our members are seeking out community sport clubs to do more."
