An internationally acclaimed artist from Kent will make some sculptures that will you can even admire in the dark this half term.
Guy Portelli is set to construct some glow in the dark pieces at Ightham Mote, which has a full schedule of Halloween and half term fun lined up.
The National Trust house will have a pumpkin patch to be explored between Saturday (October 25) and Sunday, November 2 – a tradition that the house’s former owner, American Charles Henry Robinson would have been familiar with.
Spooky Jack-o-Lanterns carved by staff and volunteers will appear throughout the garden as part of the pumpkin trail and you can head inside to make an owl bookmark.
On Thursday, October 30, there is the chance to get creative and go ‘wild about art’ by helping to make a giant picture made from bits gathered in the garden at the house’s Discovery Den.
Scarecrow making and decorating traditional ‘soul cakes’ is the order of the day on Halloween from noon to 3pm.
And, as if that’s not enough, Beatrix Potter’s character Jeremy Fisher will be taking up residence on a lily pad in the moat.
