A Swanley man "heavily involved in criminal dealings" has been jailed for eight months.

Kent Police executed a search warrant at Peter Barry’s home in Alder Way on November 14 last year.

A number of items were seized including two motorcycles and some tools which had all been reported stolen in separate incidents.

Officers also found a stun gun in his garage, quantities of herbal cannabis and resin, MDMA, scales and notebooks with details of drug amounts, values and contact telephone numbers.

A total of £24,120 was found concealed in a chest of drawers and a hallway cupboard while a small quantity of counterfeit currency was found in Barry’s larder.

Barry, 28, was sentenced at Maidstone Crown Court on Friday (October 17).

On August 20 he pleaded guilty to possessing cannabis with intent to supply, handling stolen goods and possessing MDMA, a prohibited weapon, counterfeit currency and criminal property.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Nathan Scamp said: "It's clear from the property we seized and the substances and cash we uncovered that Barry was heavily involved in criminal dealings.

"As a result of our investigations a significant amount of drugs and associated paraphernalia has been taken off the streets of Kent and a number of stolen items have been reunited with their rightful owners."
