A body has been found in Rowhill Road, Wilmington, this morning (October 18).
Kent Police have launched a murder investigation after a body was found at 5.30am following a vehicle fire.
Officers are assisting the police helicopter in searching the area.
A police corden is in place around the scene, near Rowhill Wood, while police officers and forensics carry out further investigations.
A resident of nearby Top Dartford Road, who asked not to be named, said: "The helicopter has been hovering over and there have been police and other cars going up and down all day.
"It's at the top end so I don't think anybody really knows what's gone on.
"There are some scary rumours going around though."
No arrests have been made.
The investigation is ongoing.
