A 58-year-old man has been found not guilty of raping a woman in Dartford.
Richard Newbury was charged with one count of rape and another of sexual assault in connection with an incident at an address in the town on April 8 last year.
He denied both charges, and on September 17 a jury of seven women and five men at Maidstone Crown Court found him not guilty of both after a two-day trial.
During the hearing Newbury admitted kissing the woman and reaching inside her tracksuit bottoms.
When he was arrested he initially told police there had been no sexual contact between them but later confessed there had been.
