Imagine you are having a kickabout with your mates when Cristiano Ronaldo suddenly sprints into view and demands the ball.

What sounds like a dream for any aspiring young footballer became a reality for two Dartford FC academy players.

Charlie Bex and Kaka Dembele, both 18, got to mix it with some of the finest players in the world after Nike selected them to take part in their latest TV advert.

Charlie, who lives in Cuxton, had the high pressure task of laying the ball off to the World Player of the Year before he blasted it into the top corner.

He told News Shopper: "I had been practising with a Ronaldo double then all the stars came in and we did the actual filming with them.

"That was just unreal. I was speechless and I didn’t know what to do.

"He was even better than I thought he was going to be. I was very nervous as they had got lots of fans in there at that time.

"When they came in he said to me ‘lots of pressure now’."

The left back also had to try and tackle Barcelona duo Andres Iniesta and Neymar – with predictable results.

Still, there is no shame in being skinned by a World Cup winner and Brazilian international superstar.

Also at the shoot for the four minute commercial was England star Wayne Rooney, Chelsea’s Eden Hazard, basketball legend Kobe Bryant and Swedish sensation Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Charlie said: "He was just a top man who was always making jokes."

He and Kaka were whisked off to Barcelona and Madrid over a six week period to film the advert, which features a park game transformed into a floodlit stadium clash by the introduction of a host of world class names.

They were lucky enough to be picked out when production company Sports on Screen dropped into an academy training session on January 12.

Charlie even got paid £9,000 for his troubles, enabling him to buy a Fiat Punto to get himself to training and back.

He said: "I’d love to star as an advert like that as a professional.

"I’d like to go semi-pro for Dartford and as they got relegated this season that might give us young guys more of an opportunity this year."

Who knows – perhaps Charlie and Kaka will be stars in their own right one day.

The advert has already been viewed by tens of millions of people online.
