A FATHER-OF-THREE died after being gunned down by a single shot to the buttock in a Dartford street shooting.

Kevin McKinley, 32, who lived in Louvain Road, Stone, died after being hit by a shotgun bullet in Fulwich Road last Tuesday evening.

It is believed Mr McKinley's six-year-old son saw his father dying in the street when he arrived at the scene of the shooting minutes afterwards with a relative.

The post-mortem examination ruled the cause of death was shock caused by abdominal hemorrhage after a gunshot wound to the left hip and buttock area.

A young couple who live together in Overy Street, close to the scene of the shooting, have both been charged in connection with Mr McKinley's murder. Michaela Sargeant, 24, was charged with murder on Friday and appeared before Medway Magistrates Court via video-link on Saturday.

She was remanded in custody and was due to appear at Maidstone Crown Court for a preliminary hearing on Tuesday.

Her partner Lewis Wickenden appeared in the dock at the same court on Saturday charged with possessing a semi-automatic single-barrel shotgun.

Wickenden also faces a charge of possessing ammunition, with the charge sheet detailing this offence relates to shotgun carriages.

Both were held without firearms certificates.

The 25-year-old faced another charge of assisting an offender and will return to the same court, in Chatham, for a committal hearing on Friday.

Emergency services were called to Fulwich Road shortly before 8pm on Tuesday where Mr McKinley was found on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound.
