AN INVESTIGATION has been launched after a wheelie bin was set on fire outside a kebab shop in Swanscombe.
Kent Police were called to Best Kebab Shop, in the High Street, at 2:20am this morning.
On arrival, they found a bin had been propped up against the back of the shop and set on fire.
The flames damaged the door of the shop but firefighters prevented the fire from spreading further into the premises.
Two fire engines – one from Swanscombe and another from Dartford – attended the scene after being called at 2:03am.
They were at the scene until 2:22am.
No one was injured.
The police say the fire is being treated as suspicious and its cause is being investigated.
