THE trial of two people accused of causing unnecessary suffering to horses on a Horton Kirby farm is due to continue next month.

Jamie Brown, aged 22, of Vernon Close, West Kingsdown, denies eight offences under the animal welfare act but admits one charge of causing unnecessary suffering to a chestnut mare which had dental abnormalities.

Forty-two-year-old Sharon Cooksley, of Heath Close, Swanley, denies six offences under the animal welfare act.

During the opening of the trial on November 21, RSPCA inspector Andrew Kirby told Dartford Magistrates Court how horses found on Oakview Stud Farm were thin and suffering from ringworm infection when he visited on December 30, 2011.

The trial was adjourned and is due to continue on February 7 at the same court.
