DARTFORD’S town centre was full of light, laughter and music on Friday (November 23) when a festival of light came to town.
Hundreds of schoolchildren from around Dartford mixed with passers-by as they lit lanterns and made their way from the central library through the High Street to One Bell Corner.
Music was played by the Dhol Drummers from the Four by Four Bhangra Youth Club, along with many other groups.
The event was organised by the Kent Equality Cohesion Council with the hope of celebrating the end of a monumental year for Britain.
The fourth festival of light in the region had been scheduled for October but was put back due to bad weather.
All the schools that had committed to take part last month promised to do so once again in November.
