INDEPENDENT candidate Ann Barnes has been elected as Kent's first Police and Crime Commissioner and will be accountable for how crime is tackled across the county.
She was joined in the second vote run-off by Conservative candidate Craig Mackinlay having secured 95,901 first preference votes to Mr Mckinlay’s 51,671.
The final second preference results were 18,236 to 8,577.
