Woman sexually assaulted while pushing child in pushchair in Bexley
A MOTHER pushing her young child was sexually assaulted in broad daylight.
Police in Bexley are appealing for information and witnesses for the attack which happened at lunchtime last Monday, July 30.
The 39-year-old victim was crossing a flyover towards Bexley Village from Hall Place with her child in her push chair between 1pm and 1.20pm.
A man, thought to be aged between 27 and 33, approached her and engaged her in conversation before sexually assaulting her.
He headed into the village, turning left towards Foots Cray Meadows.
He was described as an overweight white man and around 5ft5ins tall. He had short dark brown hair, was clean shaven and at the time of the attack wore mid-tone blue jeans and an orange or red striped t-shirt.
Detective Sergeant Graham Scott, of Bexley’s Community Safety Unit said: “It is imperative that the perpetrator be traced and brought to justice.
“I appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw anyone acting suspiciously or even saw the assault to contact police urgently.”
