BROMLEY Council staff made a hospital visit to talk about protecting elderly people from abuse.

The borough’s safeguarding team spoke to patients and their family and friends as they visited the Princess Royal University Hospital, Farnborough.

Healthcare staff were told how to spot signs of abuse and their responsibility to report concerns about the abuse of patients in their care.

Portfolio holder for care services Councillor Robert Evans said: “Speaking out isn’t always easy but it is vital if we are to safeguard often elderly and vulnerable adults in our community.”

Call the council on 020 8461 7777 or Minicom 020 8464 7350 if you have any concerns about an elderly or vulnerable adult’s safety.
