Police appeal over Lewisham brothel owner murder
8:02am Wednesday 22nd February 2012 in Crime By Crime Reporter
DETECTIVES investigating the murder of a Lewisham brothel owner are continuing their appeal for witnesses.
One week on from the death of Earl Warburton the police still do not know who attacked the 58-year-old in a flat above a barbers shop in Loampit Hill.
Police were called to the scene shortly before 2.25am last Wednesday (February 15) following reports of an injured man.
On arrival they found Mr Warburton suffering serious injuries and he was pronounced dead at the scene 15 minutes later.
A post-mortem examination that took place at Greenwich last Thursday (February 16) gave the cause of death as multiple injuries.
Investigating officer Detective Chief Inspector Caroline Goode said: "We would like to hear from anyone who thinks they might have some information that can assist in our investigation.
"Anyone who was in the area at the time who might have seen or heard anything suspicious we would urge to come forward and talk to us."
Anyone with information is asked to contact the incident room on 020 8721 4868 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
Two women who were arrested over Mr Warburton’s murder have been released without charge.
