Police Tasered a man who threatened them with two knives after a speeding stolen car smashed into vehicles on a Plumstead residential road.

Two police officers and another two men needed hospital treatment after the incident early on Sunday morning (May 3)

Officers chased the car at around 5am after seeing it racing along Walmer Street.

The vehicle eventually lost control and smashed into a number of vehicles parked in Walmer Terrace.

Police arrested a man on suspicion of aggravated vehicle taking, who was then taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Meanwhile, CCTV captured another man leaving his stricken companion and fleeing from the car into a property on nearby Ann Street.

Although that man was also arrested, another person inside the property was Tasered by police after threatening them with two knives

He was arrested for attempted GBH and affray. A fourth man inside the property was also arrested for affray and obstructing police.

Two police officers also suffered injuries during the incident and were taken to hospital.

Traffic officers and Greenwich police are investigating.
