A Mottingham 'cafe and fitness spa' has been shut down after police found the premises being used as a brothel and gambling den.
Police and Greenwich Council officers issued Mottingham Cafe and Mottingham Spa on Court Road with a closure order for causing nuisance and distress to residents and local businesses.
Officers entered the premises following several complaints from residents that men were visiting the cafe at all hours of the night.
Upon entering, officers became immediately aware the property was being used as a brothel and an unauthorised gambling den with beds and poker tables.
Greenwich Police's Sergeant Simon Henderson said: "I hope that the closure order served in Court Road reassures residents and businesses and shows that we take their concerns seriously.
"Anyone with suspicions or concerns should speak to police and the council to provide us with the opportunity to intervene and resolve any local issues as swiftly as possible."
The closure order means that the premises will now be shut for three months.
Anyone with concerns about crime should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
